Bob's thorough explaination of which unit to select for our home, to the removal of the 21 yr old unit, to the install of the new unit were all very professional. Before we arrive
Check your thermostat batteries and make sure it's set to Heat — then check your filter; a clogged filter can trigger a safety shutoff. If the furnace has a reset button, press it once and wait a few minutes to see if it restarts.
Check that the thermostat is set to Cool and the fan is set to Auto, then check your air filter and the circuit breaker for the outdoor unit — a tripped breaker is a common culprit before anything else.
Turn the system off at the thermostat immediately, don't run it, and call for service — a burning smell coming from HVAC equipment needs a technician before the system is operated again.
Make sure nothing is blocking the condenser coils or vents, check that the door seals are closing fully, and keep the unit closed as much as possible to preserve temperature while you wait.
